Terms and Qualifications

KAST members are categorized into Fellow, Fellow Emeritus, Foreign Member, Associate Member, Honorary Member, and Patron Member. The full number of Fellows is 500.

Fellow

  • Term: until 70 years of age
  • Qualification: 25 years or more of experience in the field of natural sciences or engineering, or related fields with an excellent record of achievement

Fellow Emeritus

  • Term: Life
  • Qualification: Retired Fellows

foreign Member

  • Foreign scholars with an exceptional record of contribution to the development of science and technology and an interest in the development of science and technology in the Republic of Korea
